Free Time Across the Life Course

چکیده

In most industrialised countries, citizens enjoy a very large amount of free time towards the end their lives, when they are retired, but find it costly to access during middle part lives. This is concerning because those who die early deprived reward that retirement holds. Extreme discrepancies between time-rich old age and time-scarce not, however, inevitable: some states incentivise long work hours in combination with retirement, whereas others shorter later retirement. variation raises thus far unexplored question how just society should design policies affect costs across life course. I answer this by using hypothetical decision-situation where prudent choosers must allocate different stages.
